A place for authentic vegetarian Gujarati recipes. Our aim is to bring the Svaad (taste) of Gujarat back to its glory to every home with these simple recipes.
Cooking for us is a fine art of bringing ingredients together in a simple and healthy way. When cooking takes place in an Asian household, it is always with the thought of the taste of the individual members in the family. The person cooking on the day will think of the taste and favourites of each person in the family and will aim to cook to please everyone, bearing in mind individual’s health as well.
A lot of the spices are not just used to give flavour to the vegetables but also have a lot of health benefits. The use some of these spices i.e. turmeric powder, methi seeds etc can aid illness such as cancer and diabetes due to their natural properties (refer to ingredients tab)
There is a huge Kenyan influence in some of the recipes. This is due to a lot of our grandparents originally have migrated to the continent from India.
In a modern Vegetarian Gujarati household, the dinner table not only consists of Gujarati food. On here we also want to try bring you other vegetarian recipes that may interest you. These are adaptations that come from all over the world but with that Indian touch.
